History of Ghazi University
Ghazi University is a public university located in Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab, Pakistan. It was established in 2012 by the Government of Punjab at the initiative of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. The university is named after Ghazi Khan, a Baloch mercenary who founded the city of Dera Ghazi Khan in the 18th Century.
The university initially started with four constituent colleges:
- College of Agriculture
- Postgraduate Degree College
- Ghazi Medical College
- Bahauddin Zakariya University Sub-Campur
In 2014, the university was granted full-fledged status and started offering undergraduate and graduate programs in various disciplines.
